The Railroad Atlas of North America series is a railroad lover's dream. The Northeast volume has been prepared to coincide with the take over of Conrail by CSX and Norfolk Southern. Coverage area includes New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Due to space considerations, the New England states are no longer included and will appear in a separate volume with the Canadian Maritime provinces.

The atlas includes additional enlargements of complex areas and also includes many early lines that were omitted from the past editions. The atlas shows all currently operated common carrier, tourist, and major industrial railroads, along with abandoned routes.
